So small it looked like a child's hat band! Very disappointed!This is such a nice band, and I replaced the one that came with the hat for this one. People have already commented on my hat, and I'm sure it's not because of the hat itself. I think this could work for more than just a cowboy hat. If you have a nice hat that you wear that is similar in fashion, this is a great piece to add to it just to give it some extra flair. Nicely made, recommended.This is a beautifully made hat band. My husband likes horse-hair Western belts, so I thought he would like something similar for his hat. I have a new hat on order for him and it hasn't arrived yet, but it is a brown cowboy hat that looks similar to the one in the pictures accompanying the product description. The hat band is made of genuine leather (not top quality full grain or top grain) but it still looks very nice and it is nicely finished and supple. I ordered the brown leather with tan horse-hair braiding. The horsehair is really a mix of white, beige and light brown. The braiding is very well done and the color will work nicely with a tan, white or brown hat. The hat band is well made with perfect stitching along the edges as well as attaching the buckle and keeper. The hat band consists of a single strap of leather measuring just under 3/4" wide and narrowing to about 3/8" at the ends (where the buckle and keeper are attached on one end and the adjustment holes have been punched at the other end). The embossed, silver colored buckle is stitched in place as is the keeper that prevents any excess length of band strap from flopping around. The buckle is about 1" X 3/4". At the other end is an end cap that matches the buckle & keeper + there are 10 holes that are spaced about 1/2" apart so this hat band can easily be adjusted to fit most any hat. The current price of $34.99 is reasonable considering the quality of the leather and workmanship, but right now there is also a coupon available for an additional $10.00 off making this an even better deal.I have a decent felt cowboy hat with a cheap-looking band. I got this to replace it. It’s super-easy to install. Like a pants belt, just put the tail through the buckle and find the right hole. I had it on in about a minute.My hat is a dark chocolate brown, almost black, so I got the black/tan combo. With the silver fittings, it looks great! For your $35, you can really dress up your favorite headgear.The band had a tendency to shift slightly. I put a mere spot of clear silicone glue front and back and on each side. Problem solved.Looks great on my Stinson hat. And it also provides perfect fitting. Definitely recommend this product.
